Annual Native Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run.

Saturday, October 19, 2024

Welcome to our Native Breast Cancer Awareness Walk/Run event page! We are excited that this year will be our 10th Annual amazing event. Every year, we seem to gather more families which is part of what makes this event so special. Thank you for those who return year after year, it reminds us that awareness, hope, and honoring our loved ones is so important, especially for those left behind and for those in their cancer journey. Together, we are Family Strong! We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, 10/19/24 at Elk Grove Regional Park.

Our Mission: To increase Breast Cancer awareness and screening, especially for Native American women. Breast Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for Native American women. It’s estimated that approximately 1 in 8 women will get Breast Cancer in her lifetime. Our goal is to raise awareness and encourage women to screen early.

Partner and Sponsorships:
This event couldn’t be possible without the love and support from our local partners. We encourage local business and Tribal organizations to partner with us to further elevate the voice of our survivors and increase awareness for this important cause.

Although we are not a non-profit, Wilton Rancheria is a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe, and Section 7871 of the Internal Revenue Code provides that Indian Tribal Governments are treated as states for the purposes of determining the deductibility of charitable contributions and gifts under IRC section 170.

If you are looking to sponsor or donate, please contact Elena Tarango at etarango@wiltonrancheria-nsn.gov
